DO NOT STAY HERE! I stayed here this past summer and it is disgusting all around. If you stay on the 2nd floor of the main building you will be above the managers residence and your room will smell like cigarettes even though theres no smoking on the property! $25 fee if you dont wash your dishes yourself, so basically your trusting that the last person washed the utensils properly with the watered down dishsoap provided… so disgusting and a HEALTH HAZARD. Another fun thing if you stay on the 2nd floor of the main building is theres a “no thumping” sign (see pic attached) so you would think they wouldn’t put a family with a small child in that room…. But no you guessed wrong! We werent even in our room for 24 hours until the manager sent one of her staff (cant even speak to us herself) to tell us we got a noise complaint from the way my 2 YEAR OLD was walking. I feel bad for the staff that work here.

The hotel manager’s attitude was awful. We wanted a sea view room. When I called, the young girl said 204 is ok, so we booked it. After booking, the boss lady suddenly said “cannot guarantee.” Excuse me?? Isn’t that a scam? We kept trying to talk with her for so long, no solution, and in the end she just hung up the phone. So rude and zero respect. Haven’t even arrived yet and the trip mood is already destroyed.

I would personally find different hotel. Although location is great and beds were comfy , I think they need to shut down the hotel to do the necessary work for it to be up to par. I booked an ocean view room. Once arriving we noticed how run down and old it was but we had expected an older place. We got into our room and a table was in front of the balcony door with a board on one side. I tried to open it and couldn’t. I called down to the front desk and was told that because it’s being worked on the ocean view balcony was out of commission. I did explain that the room was hot and I would love to just open the door for a breeze. That was not allowed as it’s not safe. This was not disclosed to me when booking or at check in. I would not have rented a room with a balcony facing the ocean that I could not use. You cannot cancel your room for any reason up to a week before so I couldn’t go find somewhere else to stay. You are expected to wash your own dishes (which is fine ) but they give you extremely watered down dish soap and a tiny little square pot scrubber. I re washed all my dishes before using because I didn’t think that was a good way to get clean stuff. Also reading the hand book it said house keeping was available before 1:00, if you don’t want house keeping put the do not disturb on the door. I did not do that as I knew I would at least want new towels. They did not come for my whole 4 day stay and I just decided to leave my garbage outside the front door. I would not recommended staying here. If you do ask for ground floor so at you you can sit outside to view the ocean. Staff did not care that I was upset about the ocean view balcony.

I was extremely disappointed with my stay here. When booking, I was told there was disabled access — which was the main reason I chose this hotel — but when I arrived, there was none. This caused a huge inconvenience and made it very difficult to get around. On top of that, the cleanliness was unacceptable. The room and hallways had spider webs and bugs everywhere, which made the place feel neglected and uncomfortable. The staff only made things worse. They were rude, dismissive, and never offered to help with anything, even after I explained the situation. Instead of hospitality, I got attitude. The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is its location — it’s close to the ocean. Unfortunately, that’s nowhere near enough to make up for the false advertising, poor cleanliness, and unprofessional staff. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

We stayed at the Sand Pebbles Inn in July. Great location with fantastic views of the Strait of Georgia. Close to the beach which was great for morning and early afternoon walks until the tide came in. The unit we stayed in was very spacious with a lovely balcony and a full kitchenette but no air conditioning which wasn't a huge issue for us. However, there were a number of issues which do prevent me from recommending this hotel to anyone... It's too close to the road. I'm a pretty sound sleeper but it did affect my wife. A little run down. The outside could use a coat of paint. Smoking. The hotel advertises itself as non smoking but there was definitely someone smoking in the office or the unit attached to the office as cigarette smoke continually wafted up to us on the second floor above the office. I did complain but I was brushed off even though I saw one of the staff smoking. If you do end up staying here try not to stay in any of the rooms above the office.

My room was lovely. I was impressed by the kitchenette. The king sized bed and sofa bed were both very comfortable. It was great to be in a room right on the ocean. There were a couple of things that could have been better. The little fan could only keep one of us cool at a time. AC would be better. The other thing was that the stairs were difficult for my sister, who has arthritis in her knees to navigate. Overall, the Sand Pebbles Inn is worth the price.

I had booked a room tentatively and had been told if I did not show up I would not be charged. Management decided to charge me anyhow. The staff I was speaking to was training and was very nice but I could not get a hold of the manager to question the charge. Clearly management doesn’t train their employees or cater to their customers. Feels like I was told one thing and management decided to do another.

We stayed here in 2019 before renovation had a great time. Now 2024 Nov 17 rooms are newer looking but the room can't get above 20°c after 5 hours. Management brought blankets which helps but floor is freezing. So we ask to leave early but they said no refund. Never again don't come here.

This is a $99 per night stay in the high season and a $69 dollar per night off season at best. Save your money and go somewhere else. The traffic noise is horrendous, the hotel office smells from cigarrette smoke, the rooms have very cheap furnishings, the curtains were mounted backwards, the anti-slip carpets were worn out and torn, The damage deposit is excessive. We left within 20 mins and a refund was completely refused. The pictures of the rooms on the website look better than what we were given - very misleading.

While the place looks a little run down on the outside it really adds to the beach charm. The rooms are updated and beautiful. We stayed in an upstairs suite and the ocean view and sounds were wonderful. No A/C wasn’t to much of a problem as the sea breeze came in nicely from the balcony. Close to little eateries and coffee shops and the public beach. The only downfall was there was no direct access to the beach from the hotel since their sea wall was damaged a few years ago. While I could climb down the rocks, my mother needed to walk 5ish minutes around the bend to get to the public access. Not the end of the world but definitely kept me from giving a 5 star.
